Epilogue: Boring Allahabad is now Prayagraj, but a walk across town is still worth it

Boring Allahabad, now Prayagraj, is quite a nice place for a stroll across town during the Kumbh Mela months.

It’s a dusty town like any other in the heartland states. There is some history, many old buildings from the time of the British and one large church in the town centre. Except for the Kumbh Mela, it’s an unremarkable place, unless you like long walks. If you do, you will have a great time. Go take a walk.

Thanks for reading. I am out of here now. See journey basket's entire four-part Kumbh Mela series: part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4.

Special thanks to Kanchan Villa, a homestay run by a wonderful couple at Lukerganj, Prayagraj.
