Comic Con India 2014


each edition of the annual comic con involves months of hard work. over the last four years, we have been witness to the gradual rise in the number of comics creators and publishers in our country.




the organisers say:
a few years ago, to avoid the costly expense of travelling abroad to a comic convention, a group of relatively young people in delhi decided to create one on their own home city. with that simple mission, comic con india was formed and has now grown to multiple events across the country.

highlights:
best graphic novel/comic book of the year – dhyan chand (amar chitra katha), bala kand (amar chitra katha), gandhi: my life is my message (campfire graphic novels), pride and prejudice (campfire graphic novels)

best colorist – c ramesh (dhyan chand), praksh s and adarsh achari (bala kand), yogesh pugaonkar (ravanayan finale part 1), vijay sharma and pradeep seravat (julius caesar), vijay sharma and rajesh nagulakonda (pride and prejudice), sachin nagar, vijay sharma and pradeep seravat (gandhi: my life is my message), sachin nagar (mother teresa: angel of the slums)

lifetime achievement award – pran kumar sharma (in a career spanning more than 50 years, pran has been directly responsible for more than 600 comic book titles. his creations have adorned the pages of more than 30 publications all across india and he proudly claims that during the decades that he created syndicated strips, he never once missed a deadline)
